Each year since the formation of our Institute there has been a growing inter- est in the work, which is shown by an increased membership. We have now a membership of 201. There are four branch Institutes in our county, three of them being formed } this year. Two of them hold regular monthly meetings. | Brampton branch had a teacher for two weeks, giving lessons in cooking. } One very interesting lesson was on the boning of a chicken. The Halton | ladies gave us a programme one month. The Grange branch has found the roll | call an interesting feature; each member responding with a helpful suggestion | or recipe. | We feel that in our county the Institute work is only in its infancy, and that great good will yet be accomplished. The greatest interest seems to be in d practical demonstrations. We are hindered somewhat by the want of funds. We find that many ladies @o not join because they come to the meetings without their purses. As a rule men have their purses or money with them. Why have not women? : wae th Considering things we have no reason to be discouraged with all the work during the past year and look forwerd to more successful meetings and to an increased membership for the year 1905. \ 1905 District Institute Name of Branch Secretary | Peel Mrs. A.C.
