4 ay: Mr. Alex Patterson had a harness shop and leather goods shop in the. brick building adjoining the hotel property. He lived on the premises until his death and then it was rented forna time and then sold to mr, Harold Simmons who now owns it ( I957. ) C. Linham has a butcher shop there To connect the hotel and the Simmons property , during the first war years a brick building was built, and used as housing for employees of the local shell factory. Later it was added to the hotel property, and used as a dining room. During the same war years of I9i4 to I8, the property of Wr.
