Choosing the right pumpkin was the first hurdle. Is it too big, too small, will it sit straight, will flower bouquet show above? Decision made, let the carving begin.
The Lucky Lilies found out that one of their team members, Barb, had never carved a pumpkin before. It was a challenge for her as blood appeared on her pumpkin. No worries a band aid covered the small wound. Oohs, aahs and a few other words were heard as we created our gourd-geous pumpkins, using different mediums.
One pumpkin was painted with a very happy face and lacquered for the outdoors. Another one is now a smiling flower pot holding a beautiful bouquet of dahlias. Three other pumpkins have various carved facial expressions. Pia and Alice cut out the bottom of their pumpkins making it easier to place a candle inside and leaving the handle intact on the top.
Urs our photographer ( Alice’s husband) was once again patient with us as we set up for the pictures. We had many laughs as our mode of transportation, corn brooms, seemed to cause “accidents” with team members. I guess we should just use them to sweep floors and not as a ride. Our picture tells the story.
We found Clue # 5 very entertaining. We can now display our masterpieces to chase away or invite Ghouls and Goblins.
