- Mary Ellen: This rock is to be given to a special person in my life who falls under the theme we have chosen “Love is many splendored.” To my Grandaughter Sophia - On a mild night in January 2007 your Grandpa & I drove to Toronto. Our first grandchild was about to be born! Early in the morning January 12, 2007 you arrived. When the nurse said “it’s a girl!” you could tell by our big smiles this was what all of us were hoping to hear. From that moment you have been a special part of my life. You have had the job of teaching Grandpa & I how to be grandparents. Three other grandchildren have followed along, but you are the one who set us on the path and taught us a grandchild brings a whole new dimension to family love.
Beverley: I painted this Monarch butterfly for my cousin Lori. She feels they represent strength and endurance. As well she loves seeing their transformation from caterpillar. Their journey to Mexico is miraculous.
Anne: The picture I drew on my stone is Charlie, a golden retriever that belongs to my granddaughter Jess who is the love of my life. She recently graduated from nurses training. I am so proud of her.
Helen: I chose to give my painted stone to much loved sister Nancy. She has a fascination for the ruby throated hummingbird. There is an iridescent shine & gleam of red and a flash of magic as the hummingbird flits among the flowers. It reminds me of the steady and magnificent glow of love. - Notes
