- TO INSPIRE:
To make someone feel that they want to do something and can do it. To make someone have a particular strong feeling or reaction.

Oxford Dictionary
So who inspires the North Shore Sherlocks? Take a look and see:
My husband Grant is my inspiration. We have been married close to 50 years
and during that time he has inspired me with his hard work and good humour. So yes, in my mind: Grant, You Rock! đ

In November 2019, my niece's 13 year old daughter was diagnosed with leukaemia. Just a few months later her Dad was diagnosed with inoperable colin cancer. His prognosis wasn't as positive as Grace's and in December of that same year he lost his battle to the disease. It was the worst of times for Grace and her family. This amazing girl inspires me because through her aggressive treatments, the isolation that covid 19 caused and the death of her father, she didn't wait for the storm to pass, âSHE LEARNED TO DANCE IN THE RAINâ.

Natalie MacMaster is a woman who really inspires me. She is a mother of seven children which she home schools while she is on the road performing beautiful fiddle music with her husband and family. Her child with special needs, she describes as a blessing. While many felt shut in during the Pandemic, Natalie reached out to them through Facebook Live sharing a glass of wine, stories and answering questions in order to brighten their day. Now that restrictions are lifting, she is organizing Fiddle Jams and hosting East Coast Style Square Dances to bring joy back to her community. I canât imagine how she juggles everything, stays positive and is always thankful for those who participate in her events. I can only hope that in my life I manage to spread a fraction of the âlightâ she has and perhaps manage to play my fiddle a tenth as well as she plays hers!

Keep Reaching for the Stars
This rock is a coarse aggregate of quartz, formica and feldspar, commonly known as granite. Granite embodies symbols of fortitude and strength. This rock represents the peak of a mountain being climbed, just above the snow tipped timberline, on route to reaching the chosen stars and represents the personal fortitude and strength required to reach those stars, and the next, and the next.......
Violet has been with me for 6+ years, at our Market Honey Stall, as an employee, starting as a high school student and moving on this summer to pursue a Masters Degree. Having watched as she reaches for, and claims, these stars, I have chosen Violet as my inspiration, because even as senior, I am going to challenge the vagaries of quartz, formica and felspar to reach for my own stars!

We chose to take the picture of us and the rocks we have hidden for these people by the ancient tree in Astridâs Yard. This tree is inspiring in itself as not only has it seen many generations, it is a pillar of strength. It has withstood extreme heat, cold, ice storms, wind and even the derecho that devastated out community last month. We strive to remain just as strong! - Notes
