On a beautiful sunny day in June, the Go Get ' Em Gals met at the home of team captain, Marg Palmer . With a number of rocks in hand, team members Mary Jane Palmer, Anna Lunn and Christine Blagden joined Marg for a rockin' paint party. The lively team enjoyed the company of an invited guest, Kathy Ostrander.
After enthusiastic discussion, and the sharing of experiences of some family members, friends and loved ones, it was decided that the theme of the painted rocks would be " HOPE ". It was agreed upon that the rocks varying in size and shape would be transformed into colourful rainbows highlighted with " HOPE "..... the expectation that something good is going to happen.
As the team busily painted splashes of colorful hues of yellow, blue, mauve, green and pink, on their carefully selected rocks , Margie P., Chrissy B., M.J., Anna and Kathy, shared stories about the loved ones who would be the special recipients of the " Rainbows of HOPE ".
Margie P. will place her lovingly painted rock in the front flower bed of longtime friends John and Geri near their special solar light. It will add a warm glow to the "HOPE " message wishing the couple good health in the days to come.
Chrissy B. will gently place her rainbow rock in the flower garden just outside the back door to her mom, Edith's , home. Having experienced a recent illness similar to covid , with lasting respiratory issues, Edith will be reminded that she is indeed that person who has always approached life with " HOPE ". Healing comes when filled with "HOPE ".
M.J. will be tenderly thinking of her Grandson, Maddox, when she places her awesome rainbow rock of " HOPE " in his flower garden. This little boy will be reminded that he is both loved and special after having experienced a year of bullying. " HOPE " and M.J.'s compassion will definitely help Maddox heal.
Anna will secretly place her " Rainbow of HOPE " in the front flower garden of friends Roger and Donna. No doubt the pet cat will be watching from the nearby window. The rainbow is a messenger for bringing HOPE and health in the future following the medical journey the couple has shared this year.
Kathy's friend, Brenda, will be the recipient of her lovely rainbow. Brenda has received an abundance of bad news lately and this symbol of "HOPE " will help to cheer her up when she finds the treasure hidden among the flowers in her garden. Kathy is anticipating the " Rainbow of HOPE " will bring an appreciative tear to Brenda's eye.
With painted rocks collected and preparations made for the group photo, the Go Get ' Em Gals lovingly placed the messages of " HOPE " at the foot of a towering maple tree which is indeed a symbol of life and strength........ the gifts that can come from " HOPE ".
