Description
Theme:
Our Country, our community and our climate. We live in a huge country and enjoy clean water, various trees and nice seasons, all things that could be in jeopardy with climate change.

Story:
The fun of searching for our stones and being together chatting and laughing definitely contributed to strengthening our friendships. We sat at a picnic table at Presqu'ile Provincial Park, beside Lake Ontario and did our rock painting while we also enjoyed the beauty of nature, the peace and the quiet.
Our rocks show we live in a beautiful area and we have a great outdoors to enjoy. You can go boating on the lake, enjoy hiking through the woods or just out walking with your family. We live here in peace and know that diversity is accepted. Peace is a treasure we would like for the everyone but unfortunately that is not the case. A lot of treasures in this world are free ...love, laughter, sharing, joy and just being alive.

Shirley: The rock I painted shows two adults and three children out together. Most weekends in the summer we would go camping. I gave my husband the rock to remind him of those times as our children are now adults with families of their own.
Tootie: I gave my rock to my granddaughter. She loves trees, loves me, so it was a win/win situation. She loved the idea that it was painted by the water at a provincial park.
Freda: One of my rocks was given to my granddaughter and it was the one that said "Peace" and had the rainbow of colours. She is very interested in supporting diversity and understanding.
The other rock will be given to the other granddaughter - it says "Stay Strong" and she could use encouragement with some of her tough decisions.
Sharon: I gave my rocks to Emma, my grand daughter, as she would have enjoyed being at the beach or out on the sailboat I painted on my rock.
