Description
June’s WISH project bought out our artistic talents for those of us who didn’t even know we had them inside of us!!!

The “DAME’S” decided very quickly on our theme for this project to be none other than “The Queens Jubilee”. With so many memories watching these events unfold over the celebration days it was easy to decide on what we would each choose to paint on our chosen rocks.

Next we each hunted for the ideal size, shape of rock to complete our creation. We were very fortunate that we have a W.I. member in our branch who is very artistic, who on being asked if we could come to her studio for a couple of hours to complete our task offered this to us. Thanks so much Dixie…..

Our stones completed represent different aspects of the Jubilee. One being that needs no explanation is The Union Jack. Next we have the formation showing 70 years reigning as Queen. We have the beautiful site we took in of the red/white/blue plumes of smoke behind the aircraft. Finally the Queen dressed in her green outfit on one of the days in attendance on the balcony.

Now where to hide these treasures… I will place my rock for my husband to find around my fish pond, let’s see how observant he is LOL
Another rock will be placed at a son’s cottage during a visit this summer, the colors will blend in nice.
A daughter’s garden will be the lucky placement of a very pretty rock.
The last rock will be seen by many at a nursing home in the area as it is put among other painted rocks in the outside gardens.

Another great project from the event coordinators. Keep
on surprising us…..
