- Description
- Donning our hard hats and Wellington boots, we went on a quest to find the perfect rocks to fulfill the request for clue #3.
After recuperating from this arduous task we met at Sue’s house where she shared her acrylic paints and brushes so helped us achieve our goal using various painting techniques such as long brush strokes, dotting and stippling overlaid with chatter of all sorts; some of which will never be repeated or disclosed. Our fine paintings illustrated our theme of flowers.
Anya will give her rock to Elizabeth, one of our members who may find inspiration in seeing the rock painted with cherry blossoms, a symbol of hope for her as she continues treatments.
Sue will give her rock to a next door neighbour who has extended kindness on numerous occasions. He shared many of his plants from his garden with her. Also he listened appreciatively to her thoughts and opinions.
On Decoration Day, Barb will place her rock by the tombstone of her husband’s parents to honour them.
Bernice will be depositing her rock on the doorstep of her amazingly kind neighbours for taking in a Ukrainian family of four who have escaped the horrors of war as their country is repeatedly and constantly bombarded by the Russian Army. Karen and John worked really hard to convert their downstairs into a private apartment for these folks who arrived a few days ago. They introduced the little girl to their grandchildren so now she has playmates. Heroes at Home for sure!
While collectively working on this project our thoughts were directed toward others, the good they do and the hand up they sometimes need. Way to go team
