- SIDE BY SIDE
Side by side
WE answer the call
WE nurture, WE share
WE care for all
Our hands and hearts
Bloom and grow
WE spread our love
To all we know
Side by side
WE stand proud
Our health, our safely
Advocating aloud
Spreading ripples
Reach families
Communities
And far beyond
Side by side
WE stand strong
In times of trouble
A team to lean on
Our caring hands
In comfort or need
Can accomplish anything
Once, is planted the seed
We answer the call
We stand proud
We stand strong
SIDE BY SIDE
Elements of the Sculpture
1. Focal, in this sculpture, is the ‘frond in the hand’ the symbol of nurturing and also the ‘heart’ which represents sharing and caring.
2. Community is represented by figures from different walks of life, working, living here, as well as, volunteering and participating in local projects. (Ie. parks, schools, industry, home, farmers, retail, people working, recreation, etc. places where we nurture and care for each other).
3. The yellow line represents the power of advocacy, undertaken by the women of WI for the health and safety of all, locally, nationally and internationally.
4. The blue and white rings represent the ripple effect our involvement initiated in community, which then may expand beyond.
5. The development and design of this sculpture also represents our pride in the work we do and the opportunities that evolve as well as the joys of being part of this community and the potential for wider connections between other WI Chapters and the greater community. - Notes
