Lego Adventure in Building
Our team was down a member for this Clue, she did participate by sharing her ideas however Covid kept her from joining us for the build. She is feeling better each day.
Women’s Institute to us is all about Community and Sharing of Knowledge. We barrowed a crocheted race track from Sandra’s grandson and 2 of his animals. The race track represents our wider community and we used it as the back drop to build a variety of situations our branch is involved in.
Starting with the left of the picture and going toward the right.
The presentation of a ROSE Program and/or speaker at a Farm Show or Plowing Match for which our members arrange and enjoy listening and learning from. Next is the small First Aid building where the Paramedics stay when they are not out on a call. Many of our Members make blankets and donate books and stuffed animals to the “Books/Bears/Blankets” sets which they carry on their trucks to give to children who have experienced a stressful situation and require comfort.
The police car and bicycle represent our community volunteering for teaching safety in our community as well as the advocacy over many years for programs and signage to keep our communities safe.
In the middle of the field is an example of some of the members coaching summer and winter sports such as soccer to children.
On to the right are two buildings and fence with animals and tractor to symbolize the farms. Many of our members live on or close to farms and participate in the teaching of 4-H programs and Farm Safety programs.
And finally in the middle closest to our team is a house that is where the “Home” in “For Home and Country” part of our Motto comes in. Home is where we do all the planning, planting, baking, crafts and caring for our families. This place affords us the love and energy to go out and keep up with all the wonderful opportunities that Women’s Institute allows us to take part in.
It was a fun opportunity to play and chat as it has been a while since any of us have played with LEGO.
