New Museum Virtual Tour Available on DVD We love to welcome WI Members to the Erland Lee Museum, however, we understand that not everyone can come by for a visit. Fortunately, there is a way to bring the Museum to you! A new Virtual Tour was recently created and it is now available on DVD for $15.00. It can be purchased online, through the Provincial Office or from the Museum Gift Shop. Erland Lee Museum Gift Shop Donations Women's Institute Areas take turns each year supplying items suitable for sale in the Gift Shop. In 2018, it is Simcoe Area's turn, followed by Hamilton Area in 2019. If an Area is unable to donate items, they can make a monetary contribution and the Gift Shop will purchase items for sale. However, anyone at any time is welcome to donate! Here is a small list of the items that sell well: Bird figurines, bone china tea cups and saucers, bib aprons, knitted dishcloths, hand towel sets, hand crafted baby outfits (6 months or larger), good quality handmade items, and good used books. We cannot accept preserves or canning of any kind. We thank everyone for their support of the Museum through their donations to our Gift Shop! This was to celebrate the completion of the digitizing of over 23,000 pages of local Tweedsmuir Histories of Prince Edward District and Hastings District (Trent Valley Area), and to thank and recognize the Parrott Foundation for their $30,000 grant so this could be accomplished. Some Tweedsmuir Books were on display and a virtual tour of FWIO's Digital Collections website, outlining what is available, was demonstrated by Irene Robillard and Evelyn Peck. Over 60 people were in attendance to witness this historic occasion, presented by the Prince Edward and Hastings District Women's Institutes. Pictured are members of the Digitizing Committee (front row, L-R): Cecilia Maines (Hastings District), Evelyn Peck (Prince Edward District President), Brenda de Castris (Prince Edward District) and Linda Gray of the Parrott Foundation. Back row: Judy Kupecz (Chairperson, Hastings District), Eleanor Wilson (Hastings District), Barb Foster (Prince Edward District) and Nancy Wood (Prince Edward District). 6
