A few years ago, being aware of concerns regarding a two potentially dangerous traffic intersections in their community, the Bethel-Zion W. I. (Hastings District, Trent Valley Area) went into action. Through subsequent phone calls and letter writing they were instrumental in lobbying the Ministry of Transportation and the City of Belleville to install a four-way, flashing red/amber light at the busy intersection of Zion Road and Phillipston Roads.

The other important traffic issue that required attention was the needed signage and reflectors at the unlighted turn off from Highway 37 onto Phillipston Road. They were successful in having this concern resolved as well.
