24 JANUARY Canada's Centennial Year Special activities keeps the members in mind of their Motto "Home and Country" . As a project the Institute planned to pay the lettering on the Centennial Library. e They also sent used clothing and quilts for the needy families on the Saugeen Reserve ft Southampton. As another Centennial project there was a paper given each month by a differant member on Know Canada and Ontario was presented for us January meeting , plus pictures of different places in our province by Mrs. Marriott. FEBRUARY Special motions of the passed were made as by--laws pretaining to our Branch. s Know Canada -- a paper on the Maritimes by Mrs. Cavill was presented. MARCH Know Canada -- Newfoundland was given by Mrs. R. Cumming. The Branch gave a donation towards the Easter seals fund. Catering to a Men's Bonspiel and giving a donation from the proceeds to the Arena committee. APRIL In the Women's Institute the fiscal year starts in April. Whatever date is the Branch meeting day in April that is the Annual meeting to appoint Officers and report all financial business. The Executive for 1967 -- 68 are Past President -- Mrs. James Cavill Presidert ~ Mrs. Chester Teeple lst Vice President -- Mrs. John Gold 2nd Vice Presf#dent-- Mrs. Wm. Knox Sec--Treasurer -- Mrs. Donald Darroch District Director -- Mrs. James Cavill Public Relation Officer -- Mrs. Wm. Knox Thirty--one members joined by paying a fee of $1.00 each. April l2th, the W.I. and 4H club girls donated towards the program of the Centennial Variety concert held in the Town Hall which proved a huge success. They also zgave their share of the s proceeds towares erecting the Centennial Plaque on the property of the Centennial Library. April 22nd , the 4H club girls and leaders entertained the W.I, ladies at their Centennial meeting in Westminister Presbyterian Church. f April 26th -- Freezer Forum was held in the United Church , Paisley Everybody welcome. April 29th -- Our Institutes Annual Bake sale, bagzaar and tea in the Community centre which was a success. MaAY | The W.I. members were reminded of the 4H Achievement Day in [ Walkerton, May l13th. An announcement was made regarding a Paint o Demonstration , which will be held May 31 in the Community Centre, I sponsored by Dryden's Hardware. May.25th -- Four deleggtes were appointed to the District Anfiua]l in Ellmwood. _ An interesting report of the Officers Conference | at University of Guelph wes given by Mrs, Cavill, Past President , who the Branch chose as their delegate,.
