W.1. Meeting The Novemberâ€" meecting of the Lakeside Women‘s Institute met Wednesday in the Orange Hall with the president, Mrs. Willis Ball presiding. The meeâ€" ling opened with Institute Ode, Mary Stewart Collect and "‘O Canada‘. Mrs. Lemanâ€" Harris was appointed delegate to the County Conference. Plans were made to help with the Centenâ€" nial Fair to be held in Kintore. Mrs. Allin Stewart gave a reâ€" port on the Fall Board meeting held in Hickson. Mrs. Frank McLeod presided for the proâ€" gram. _ Theâ€"roll «call; "What gives me pep" was answered by 17 members. Mrs. Charles Holden commented on the motâ€" to: "He who has health, has hope and he who has hope has everything". Mrs. Andrew Kittâ€" mer gave current events. Mrs. Leman Harris gave a piano number and Mrs. Alex Muir read a poem on Autumn. Mrs. McLeod gave an interesting talk on Expo. Kimberley McLeod entertained with tap dancing. P The January meeting of the Lakeside Women‘s Institute met Wednesday, January 3rd in the basement of the Lakeside Unitâ€" ed Church with the president Mrs. Willis Ball presiding. The meeting opened with the Ode and repeating the Mary Stewart Collect in unison. Due to so much sickness in our communâ€" ity, the attendance was down. Roll call was "What I can do to lower food costs." The motâ€" to, "In this modern era, all a woman has to do is to keep on plugging" was commented on by Mrs. Alvin Wells Current events were reviewed by Mrs. Charles Holden. A New Year‘s poem was read by Mrs. George Holden and Mrs. Roy Sutherâ€" land. A miscellaneous sale was held and a goodly sum was realized. Mrs. Jared Vining and Mrs. Robert Holden were apâ€" pointed leaders for the milâ€" linery course that is being held in February. The meeting closâ€" ed with The Queen. Mrs. Jared Vining reported on the â€"course, .‘"Hats For You." Mrs. Chas. Mitchell, convener of Agriculture and began the programme with a reading. Mrs. Mac Gates comâ€" mented on the motto, "Nature never spoils her work by being in a hurry." Mrs. Armour Kittâ€" mer gave hints on freezing peas. Current events were reviewed by Mrs. Allin Stewart. Mrs. Glen Palmer read a poem. Comâ€" munity singing was enjoyed with Mrs. Bryant Sutherland at the piano. Readings were given by Mrs. Alex Whittacker and Mrs. Jas. Morrison. Meeting The June meeting of the Lakeâ€" side Women‘s Institute was held in the Orange Hall on Wednesâ€" day, June 7 th. Mrs. Jared Vinâ€" ing, 2nd viceâ€"president presided for the meeting. The meeting opened with the Institute Ode. Mary Stewart Collect and "O Canada". The roll call, "An interesting fact about_ another country." Mrs. Eric Kittmer commented on the motto, "Love is the best assurance for world peace." Plans are being made for a bus trip in August. Mrs. James Kittmer reviewed Current Events. Mrs. Eric Kittmer, conâ€" vener of the Citizenship and Education group presided for the program and introduced the guest speaker, Mr. R. J. White, barrister of St. Marys, who spoke on Estate Planning, and a question and answer period followed the address. Mrs. Clarâ€" ence Cole thanked the speaker. Miss Nancy Gates entertained with Scotch dancing and John Gates and Donald Snell supplied the musical accompaniment for Nancy. Mrs. Clayton Kew gave the courtesy remarks.
