CENTENNIAL TEA 1967 o The August meeting took the form of a Centennial Tea on August2, 1967, x which was held in the Urited Church basement. The Church was decorated | ' @5 in purple and yellow streamors, also the 3 flags, The Union Jack, Maple | Leaf and the Provincial Flag, with the Union Jack and and the Coatâ€"ofâ€" Arms. The room was also decorated with the Institute Crest. The long tea table was covered with a white cloth, 2 silver tea serâ€" vices and a boukuet of flowers. The tea tables were covered with white | oc iuncheon cloths, bowls of roses with Maple Leaf flag on each vase, also Centennial rose and and Centennial crest table napkins. Mrs. Margaret | Johnston and Mrs. Art. Fallowfield poured tea. | The display tables were covered with white tablecloths. The 1967 work was shown by Mrs. Charles Mitchell, consisting of hand made mats, quilts, and needle work. | | Mrs Roy Sutherland had charge of the old clothing, old dishes and silverware. Mrs. Lawrence Taylor showed old quilts, bedspreads, and old pictures, also being the Curator of the Lakeside Institute had the Tweedsmuir History Books on display. | The 4â€"H Club Girls looked after the table with their display of the | work they had dore. Mrs Clayton Kew "demonstrated an old sewing machine and an old spiâ€" . nning wheel. | ‘ Mrs. Jared Vining g_reeted the guests at the door and Mrs. Charles Holden looked af’cer the guest book.
