The present Slant_TOOf 45X30 barn was built to the 50x50 horse stable and 1 drive shed by Emerson ElliOtt around 1898. The wooden stabling was torn out by j the Williamson Eros at the time of' the T.B. test in 1949, and replaced by I cement and steel by the Buchners in 1950. In 1955 a bulk milk tank was f1-ns.slrial- led and milk was then slipped to Toronto. In 1961 a new milk house was built [ . attached to the west Side of barn and in 1965, around the barn pipeline milk was installed and the former horse stable, chicken pen and drive shed was re- modelled for young cattle. . In 1972a new wood fram, steel clad 50 X 75 barn was built with free stalls and bunk feeders, and a 20 X '70 ft cement slab silo was erected. In 1955 a machine shed was built Just west of the main barn. The red brick house apparently built in two stages to accomodate Emerson _ Elliott and his wife, Minnie Firby and a part for his motherin 1897, had two i big bay windows at the south and one at the east. The Williamson Bros. Ile- I Pyred the one at the east. The Elliotts installed bathroom supplied by lead lined storage tank at the north end of' the hall, which was removed by the _ Buchners in 1950. Elliotts installed electricity in 1915 or 16 and later on had an electric hot watertank. Natural gas was installed in 1959 by the J Williamson Bros., replacing wood stoves and electric hot water. In 1945 pressure system was installed. The house was heated with wood stoves and fur- nace with ceiling registers to heat the upstairs until 1965, when a gas fired F. hot water heating system was installed by the Buchners.
