Many friends and relatives attended the reception held Sunday at the Thorndale community centre. They were married on Sept. 20, 1922 and farmed two miles west of Thorndale until retiring to London. Mrs. Fred Arthur introd- uced_the speaker for the evening. Mrs. Alice Garner of Em_bro, who spoke on cancer and also, showed a film. . She had many pamphlets on display that one could have or order. A question and answer period followed. Mrs. Van Strien expressed thanks from her group and presented Mrs. Garner with a gift. The roll call was answered with a blues chaser. Thi; 4-H leaders are Mrs. David Miller, and Mrs. Gary Davié. _ The fall board meeting will be held at 'Hickson on Oct. 15. Two minute reports were given by Mrs. F', Arthur and Mrs. C. Tate. The London Area Convent- ion on Oct. 27th and 28th at the St. Marys Arena. Mrs. George Towle re- ported on the 85th anniver- sary held in Toronto that she and Mrs. David Arthur attended.
