The Presto division of the St. Marys Children‘s Choir had a blast spending a week in New York City, and performing at the Americal Choral Directors Association‘s Annual Convention. In commemoration, the group had the School decorated with flowers and candles in the Institute colours of _ blue and gold. The theme of the meeting was garlic and the speaker was Jackie Rowe of the Garlic Box in Hensall She gave us the history of garlic and how it is good for us, helping prevent such ailments as heart disease and cancer. Diane Greason gave a reading: ‘Garlic will Cure Everything, even a toothache and earache." The roll call â€" "tell how you use garlic in cooking" â€" was answered with adding it to hamburgers, meat loaf and polatoes. The Penmies for Friendship was "name the number of recipes you can think of using garlic." The Oxford County Spring Board will be held on Monday March 31 at 6:30 p.m. in Mount Elgin. Each Branch will report how many tickets they need for the 100th Anniversary of Oxford District, Members learn about garlic BROWN‘S WI ‘Away for a Day‘ will be held on Tuesday April 8, starting at 9:30 a.m. in Dundas United Church, Woodstock. Some of the courses being offered are refinishing furniture by Judy Newman, make a set of wooden coasters by Carol Miller, basic scrapbooking by Debra McRobert, patio lanterns by Margaret Ogar, make a colourful garden stone using pieces of an old plate (bring your own). A donation of $100 was given to the Adclaide Hoodless Home Fund. Browns W.I. Charity Euchre and Luncheon will be held on ‘April 26 at noon. The charities being supported are Cancer and Cystic Fibrosis. Tickets will be $12. One of our members walked for Alzheimers and received donations totalling $75. The next meeting will be March 19 at 10 a.m. in the School. to be held at Elmhurst Inn, Ingersoll on June 9. The regular Browns W. I. Euchre party was held on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. at the School. The prize winners were as follows: High Lady â€" Ina Pickell; High Man â€" Earnie Oliver; Lone Hands â€" Kathy Jeffrey and Gordon Smith; Low â€" Roley Horst and Bill Switzer.
