Guests were present from Hamilton and London. An open installation of officers was held Friday, Sept. 28 in the A presentation of a recliner chair for blood transfusion patients had been made earlier in the week to St. Marys Memorial Hospital. The money had been raised by the Worthy Matron‘s Project. Congratulations to Lois Bragg who was recently appointed to the Grand Chapter Fundraising Committee. Brock Hanly was present to receive a gift of $1,000 as the recipient of the ESTARL (Eastern Star Award for Training in Religious Leadership) Award. Brock is a student at Huron College, London. It was decided to make a donation to the Canadian and American Relief Fund. : A member of the Eastern Star Chapter Greason is also very active in the Women‘s Institute. Presently she is President of the Oxford District Women‘s Institute as well as a member of the Brown‘s Womens Institute. As a member of the Institute, Greason plans the spring and fall Institute Day Away, which is a proâ€" gram of educational workshops for women of Oxford County. Greason is also in charge of the Scholarship and Bursary program for Oxford County high schools on behalf of the Institute. The "Gardens Galore" project was started by the Agricultural Society and Greason spoke to Grade .3 school children and Youth Centre particiâ€" pants to encourage them to take part in the proâ€" ject.
