Uniondale W.1. The June meeting of the Unâ€" iondale Women‘s Institute was held on Tuesday evening, June 8th in the Assembly room. of Wildwood Park Public School. The president Mrs. Calvin Richâ€" ardson presided,, and the meetâ€" ing opened with the Institute Ode and the Mary Stewart Colâ€" lect repeated in unison. The president welcomed the guests as a number of the charter memâ€" bers of thirty years ago were present and the evening was in honour of the thirtieth anniverâ€" sary of the Institute. There were thirty members when orâ€" ganized and at present. there are twentyâ€"five charter memâ€" bers. The roll call was answerâ€" ed by "a change in the comâ€" munity in the past twentyâ€"ive years". The first officers presâ€" ent were: president, Mrs. Marie Wilson of London; viceâ€"presiâ€" dent, Mrs, Annie Laurie Bolton; sec.â€"treas., Mrs. Gordon Hutton. Miss Sheila Greason, convener for the program, took over and had the thirty candles lit by the charter members and offiâ€" cers of the Institute. Highâ€" lights of the past were given in picture form by Miss Greason. Mrs. Roy Fader introduced the Oxford North District President, CHARTER MEMBERS OF UNIONDALE (NORTH OXFORD) W.1. â€" gathered for this picture last Tuesday evening when the Instiâ€" fute observed its 30th Anniversary. Mrs. Maurice Hutton sang a medley of songs which were enjoyed by all and the accompanist was Mrs. Ray Slater. Miss Greason introduced Mrs. Norman Coulthard, R.R. 1, St. Pauls, provincial board dirâ€" ector for subâ€"division twentyâ€"two and member of the finance comâ€" mittee of FW.LO., who also brought greetings. Mrs. Gordon Smith thanked the guest speakâ€" er and presented each with a gift. The contest "Inventors" was won by Mrs. Maurice Hutâ€" ton. The lunch committee conâ€" vened by Mrs. Wm. Bradley serâ€" ved birthday cake, ice cream and tea bringing a very enjoyâ€" able evening to a close. Miss Sheila Greason was in charge of arrangements for the program and one of the highlights was the lighting of thirty candles on the birthday cake by charter members and officers of the Institute.
