Arthur had assembled a number of slides which she presented with accompanying readâ€" ings, The first presentation was entitled For the Beauty of the Earth, and showed pictures of sunsets, sunrises, snow scenes including Brown‘s Church nestled among the snow drifts after last winter‘s storms. There were also autumn scenes and pictures of members on a visit to the McMillan Iris gardens. She showed next, pictures expressing ‘Thanks for Simple Things‘ as smiles, love, work well done and a beautiful scene of a flock of wild swans in a rain soaked corn stubble field on theeighth concession of Zorâ€" ra (East Nissouri). She also showed pictures of U.C.W. members armed with scrub pails cleaning the Church after last winter‘s storm had blown the furnace pipes off. These slides had been taken by Mrs. David Arthur, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Brooks and Mrs. Tate‘s uncle, the Rev. Nathan Danard of Grand Rapids. Brown‘s U.C.W. held their Thank Offering meeting in the Sunday School room of Brown‘s United Church. Mrs. Clarence Tate, convenâ€" or _of the _ Stewardship committee presided for the program.
