The good news is that a "Fall Tour" is now being planned for September so if you missed the first one, be ready to join us to see what the fall garden has to offer. The maps provided on our tickets were well laid out and not a flaw could be found. Hosts were happy to answer questions and make all feel welcome. Well done and thank you. Colborne and District Garden Club held a very successful . "Garden Tour" June 4. This was our first attempt, and all who graciously opened their gardens, all helpers and promoters, are indeed pleased with the very positive results, It was a lovely day and the diversity from garden to garden was also a pleasure as the countryside was beautiful. We have a wonderful variety of gardens, large and small, in this area and avid gardeners willing to share the results of their hard work and Rose Show and fall garden tour Garden Club A GELC E2E L South Cramahe Public School Class of 1994 A. VanEgmond fKowiLe _JIline R. Blakely @ 8. Sanders P. Cavanagh M. Scriver knowled She had brought books, and lots of specimens of various roses to show us. We thank her so much for her time and knowledge imparted to us and wish her every happiness in the future. Our rose show June 20 at Prospect Church Hall, although few number of entries, was rich in quality. We had only 16 exhibitors and 109 exhibits and we thank those who, despite the heat, made this show a delight. After giving her comments, Dr. Rahmel informed us this was her last show as a judge, so we were extremely pleased that she had accepted our Invitation. We thank Peg Tozek and her helpers who took over for Ada Winter. : We had Dr.. Fern Rahmel of Ballieboro, a renowned rose expert, with us to judge this show. . Our president, Sharon Rusk, conducted our meeting. We were asked to remember Elizabeth Rutherford, a longâ€"time y C. Dignam J. Strickland Her work for our society over many years will be remembered and much appreciated. Also we remember the passing of Jim Trotter, presidentâ€"elect of the Ontario Horticultural Society. Among events of interest coming up are the District 4 Flower Show at Baltimore Arena on Thursday, Aug. 4. and respected member who passed away recently. There will be an open house at the Day Lily Farm in Orono on July 23 and 24 and it is well worth a trip to see these lovely flowers in great profusion. There is no admission charge. Sharon asked us all to think up a design for a club banner and submit our ideas to the executive. It seems we are the only club in the district that does not have a banner. Our Colborne emblem is the apple blossom, so please be thinking of a design incorporating this with title "Colborne and District Horticultural Society."
