September 16th 2008 To Mrs. Molly Morris The Northern Area Convention FWIO Re: Tweedsrnuir Hi_stogy Report to be Read at Area Level Dear Molly, I'm sorry I will be unable to attend our Area Convention this year. However, as the alternate Tweedsmuir History Curator, I felt the need to send you this letter to inform you that I have not received reports for our Tweedsmuir History this year. This may be due to these reports being sent to Mrs. Jean Tandberg, who unfortunately past away. There was some confusion at the Muskoka District Annual about where the Tweedsmuir History report belonged. It was felt by some branches that it should be part of their Branch Report. They did not understand that it was to be sent from the Branch Curator to the District Curator, and it turn, she is to send her compiled report to the Area and then to Provincial Level. Question: Where do these rewrts end up? If the Tweedsmuir History reports finally all end up going to our Headquarters and sits there, without any more importance, perhaps this should be discussed ... Are these particular reports used to compile some sort of Special Stats for the FWIO? If not, then why not have the Tweedsmuir History Branch Reports sent directly to Headquarters with our other reports? ... This would leave us with one less report to be read at the District/Area Level. On a personal note, I truly enjoyed hearing what all the other groups did Re: programs and fundraisers etc because this always gave us new ideas to tgy and it kept us more in touch with each other as an organization right from the Branch Level thru to the Area. The T weedsmuir History Report has become "cut and dried", down to just a few yes or no questions on where our books are stored and whether we photocopied them etc. It is a quick report to give but how helpful is it? Which reports are more imwrtant? Just something to think about! Best regards to all my WI friends ... hope you have a wonderful day! Sheila Gonneau Branch/District History Curator Alternate Area Curator 2008 -09
