This is a copy of my letter of November 8, 1978 when I tried to get this project started. Dear Branch Members: A note to keep you posted on the progress of sending a deligate to National Convention In Saskatoon. I have written a letter to both Board Directors, Mrs. Marjorie Wall and Mrs. Ethel Liddard, and have visited my three Director meetings to promote this project. To start the ball rolling, I am hoping we can send a deligate to Saskatoon this year. With nu branches contributing either $5.00 or $10.00 each, we can have $220.00 or $uh0.00 for the deligate, which will be a big help for this time. “Keep the Fund Alive“ - If each branch will contribute $5.00 or $10.00 yearly, then all expenses can be paid for a deligate to attend. With lt branches participating it can easily be done, as Conventions are every three years. This fund is to send a non-voting deligate, or help an eligible deligate as long as they are from our Area, meaning the nu branches. A bank account will be set up, handled by a Committee to include the Area Secretary and President. With nu branches contributing $5.00 annualy for 3 years. $660.00 II n II if $10. 00 II ' I II $1,320. 00 About the deligate. If in your Sub-Division 27, names submitted who would like to attend as deligate, and bring back a full report, the same will be done for Bub-Division 26. The names will be put In a hat, one drawn to determine the deligate. From then on, turns can be taken either by District, or Bub-tuv1alon. I am trying to add new incentive to our Area, and this could be one way. Knowing some one can attend with all branches sharing a great experience. Otherwise We know members cannot afford to do so on their own. I feel this is a great Project. "" Sincerely Mrs. Edith Smith copies to lil) branches. Area P.R.O Trust this will give you an insight to how the project got started.
