§ . 2.6 _ Resident Participation These applications were initiated in response to requests by the Rural Property Owners‘ Association for assistance in providing services to Porquis Junction and Monteith and for the rehabilitation of those two communities. As can be seen from the Appendices, the residents through the Rural Property Owners‘ Association have been actively involved in the decision to apply for participation in NIP and in the preparation of the application. Council has accepted this participation and has asked the Rural Property Owners to establish Coordinating Committees in each community for the Neighbourhood Improvement Program. _ These Committees have now been. established and, along with the individual residents, will partiâ€" cipate in the Program assuring that the Programs reflect as closely as possible the desires of the local residents. 3. STAGE I â€" NELGHBOURKOOD SELECTION The Neighbourhood Improvement Program includes three stages as follows: .
