HISTORY OF BERNHARD RISTAU Gone out of business after learning the trade of Blacksmithing 55 years ago. After two years of training Mr. Ristau started up his own shop in Cormac and stayed there for 16 years. Then he moved to Golden Lake, rented a house and shop for five years. During the war years, rent control went into effect. Nails and cement were hard to get. Mr. Ristau bought the butcher shop here in Golden Lake, moved it onto a lot on Highway 60. Improvements were made and built a shop out of old buildings and has been working in this shop the past 32 years. Due to ill health he had to retire in 1979 at the age of 82 years.
