She was the daughter of Elizabeth Jane Thomas and Allen McMillan. She was raised on Golden Lake, on What was called "Thomas‘ Point. She took up dress making as a young girl, and travelled from family to family outfitting them with new wardrobes. She told me she spent many weeks along what is now called the "Barr Line" making clothing for the families while she lived in with them. She was active in the Women‘s Institute when it was former in 1934 as the Branch of "Golden Lake W.L. * and remained a member up to the time of her death.
