3 . To Women‘s Institute Members and Friends We take pleasure in presenting EXTENSION SERVICES FOR THE HOMEMAKER for 1953â€"54. This year sufficient copies of our Extension Services booklet are availâ€" able so that each member in your Institute will receive a copy through the branch secretary. Please use your copy for study and as an aid in the j selection of a topic for your group to sponsor. Then keep your booklet readily available for future reference. | The courses outlined in the following pages are coâ€"operative projects. The Department provides the travelling and living expenses of the lecturers and demonstrators but the sponsoring and participating groups look after all local arrangements such as publicity, enrolment, hall rent and so on. Requests for a service are sent directly to us through the branch Women‘s Institute secrefug-heasurer on the application form provided. Branches within convenient distances may combine to request a service. You will note that the services outlined are available for ALL women in the community. The! are sponsored by the branch Women‘s Institute but nonâ€"members are cor ial:ly welcomed. Thus, through our Extension Services, an opportunity is provided for the branch Institute to render valuable service to the community. Where there is no branch Institute in a comâ€" munity special arrangements may be made by an organized group writing directly to the Women‘s Instifute Branch and Home Economics Service, 1207 Bay St., Toronto. A representative from the Department will be in attendance at your district annual and will be prepared to discuss any questions you may have regarding Extension Services. We wish you every success in the planning and carrying out of your 1953â€"54 programme. ANNA P. LEWIS, March 1, 1953. Director.
