i ‘1 Dunrobin WOmen's Institute has organized at a meeting held at the home of hrs. I.S_Kennedy on January 9, 1918. _jEy.cr.J.','iilscm of Carp, who was District fresident at the time, presided. The meeting onened by singing the Kaple Leaf and repeating the Lord‘s Prayer and this was the pattern for succeeding meetings. Eleven venen joined at this first meeting and paid their flee of Pe;t. The second meeting was held at the home of Mrs.George Ltueher on Jobruery lo. lt this meeting 5 more ladies joined: Liss Jean Vahey, Mrs. Cyril genuedy, hiss nibble Hesbitt, Miss Eeatrice need and --rs.ir.-i.Ly:rccher(visrsunc). it has moved and seconded that material for making a Red Cross quilt be purchased before the next meeting. miss Luriel Younghusband gave a paper on â€That the Women's Institute can do for the Schools". The third meeting was held at the home of CraTs.fa.U.lysvis. lhree more members were srd'rded.'Urs.rihculas: McOuatt, hiss Aellie nobbs and piss nuriel oerraugh. Mrs.nennedy _ gave a paper on ,, A Girl's Duty in the Home". The material tor the hed Gross quilt had 1 been brought to the meeting and blocks were cutout and distributed among the nembers. There WaS a discussion concerning how to dispose of the quilt which had been worked with names in each block, f?'dip' being collected from each for the privilege. The money collected in this way amounted to §94 of' which r'75 was immediately sent to the Prisoner " *br Fund. There was s discussion about what to do with the quilt and it was decided to auction it later in the year. Lies Mae hammell joined at this meeting.
