GEORGE FIELDIN, Lot 2, Concession 5 George Fielding came from Manchester, England, and homesteaded this land in 1886. He built his first house in 1887, and brought his bride Agnes Ceasar there in 1899. He had 150 acres at .50¢ per acre from the Crown. In 1890 the first barn was built 50 fedt x 100 feet, to house 10 cows and horses. George Fielding and his wife raised a family of 8, two of whom still make their home in the Township, and have contributed much to the development of the community.
