1929â€"30 Sydenham W.I. joined the League of Nations, fee $10, literature to be passed around among members, They also joined the Local Council of Women, Kingston, sending a delegate. Mrs. Tovell, Mrs. C. Truscott, Mrs. McFadden and Mrs, Rose Fowler each served a turn in this capacity. . In March, 1930 a Girls‘ Garden Club was organized 1930â€"31 Dishes and spoons were purchased for the Institute. Much work was done for relief. Nightgowns and layettes were provided for two mothers. Music was still sponsored in the public schools. Grants received in 1930, Municipalâ€"$150 Legislativeâ€"g6l 1932â€"33â€"34 Seeds were provided for children for the School Fair. Work for Relief continued. Singing in schools still was sponsored. 1935â€"1941 No large money transactions took place. In 1938 the Sydenham W.I. put milk in three lower rooms of the Public School. Nearly 80 children benefitted by this. An interesting paper on "Mica Mining in Loughborough" was given by Mrs. H. Boyce. The W.I. . continued to work closely with Mr. Sirett on school fair work.
