Carpenters. It would be amiss not to mention our very worthy group of l carpenters who have erected hundreds of buildings in the Township during the past hundred years. Burns was one of the first also John Bottrell, and Hagerfield, These men built dwelling houses. Adam Fourquer was a stone mason. Joseph North built excellent frame barns. He later put up houses. Richard Cooper and Butler were also builders in the early days. Milton and Amos North took up their father's trade after he died. 2 From 1960 to 1978 we have several men who do excellent carpentry. 5 Lloyd Hosick, Harold Gibson and his brother Roy who can make china % cabinets deserving merit. Farohn i Fred Craig was a smard,1)u'th wood working tools and built boats, I Funiture and many other articles of beauty. Mr. Thomas Dobbs, made é caskets and steam boats, also funiture. His son James worked also i with lumber quite artfully. Harry Brook has recently been showing his skill at the building art in this Township. He will be retiring soon and hopefully will V lend a hand to anyone needing a handyman. Speaking of the era of nail drivers, we and there were some who really liked to drive them home, so long as they lasted. Nails were much cheaper in those days and lumber was rougher. One carpenter was known to set 20 nails to each side of a door casing. l l
