This is our birthday. 95 years ago a group of ladies organmized the ist Women‘s Institute of Castleton â€" 1903 | These were concerned women who cared about the health and welfare af their families, friends and neighbours. Joyce Murray, cur present secretary, will c~ead that list of members and the minutes of their first meeting. 4.Sue LaBerge, our Tweedsmere historian, has set up a display of scrapbooks of clippings saved over the many years. Please feel free to brouse later. S.O0ur Castleton W.1I. branch has 1 Life Member, Myrtle Ducie. We would like to recognize her years of dedication. Joyce Murray has a presentation to make. While she is here we would like her to cut our birthday cake. We will have pictures taken now. Cake will be served later. Helen Holmes, one of our past members is visiting from Engiand. G.,.Cathy Galt has a presentation to make. Our present Reeve,Stu Oliver has a presentation. Dorathy Harnden brings greeting from FWIQ. 7.Roall Calls= Greetings from each branch present. Some of our branch accomplishments are : the Castleton library coâ€"sponsored by our W.I. and a drama club, the i village cencotaph,the Bâ€"way stop at the village corner,village j( p3An is tables,.and during the war years the ladies knitted,wrate leters,sent parcels and so many other remembrances. These are ist a few of our accomplishes over the years. J.1 would like to thanmk all those who have come today to help us colebrate this special occasion. Also thanks to our own members who have helped put this day together. 10.1 will now ask God to bless the lunchean we are about to share: Oh Lord our God, thank You for the opportunity to live in a country such as ours, to participate in the democracy of today; to have our input into legqislation such as the pasteurization of milk and the right of women ta have a voice in Parliament.
