He moved to Canada in 1963. His stay was every nearly shortlived. He made d arrangements with his young wife Edna that he .| would bring her over if he found a job within a month of his arrival. The Thursday before he was 2 set to go back he found a position in Sault Ste. Â¥ Marie. £ During his career in human resources he had t} little time to spend on his craft. But a heart attack in 1982 slowed him down and at the suggestion of Edna, he began to take his painting more seriously. P Instruction by Ed Watson, and later, Jim Pagett, 2 taught him that there was a lot to learn. Y Now, coupled with a fertile imagination and a ‘z)' sense of humour, he is applying his talent in works + s that are often provoking and sometimes humourous. < As Alf says, "I observe life and interpret it on V paper". His topics in this, his first solo show, include racism, life goals, keeping up appearances and a # medley of others. | e ¢ . us His show runs from Jan. 17 to Feb. 22.
