EACH YEAR MEMBERS, THEIR HUSBANDS AND FAMILIES MEET IN THE EVENING FOR A DELICIOUS POT LUCK DINNER AND AN ENTERTAINING PROGRAM, WITH . AT A TIME WHEN FUNDS WERE SHORT, EVERYONE CONTRIBUTED AN ITEM TO BE AUCTIONED OFF, CREATING MUCH FUN AND INCREASING OUR FUNDS SUBSTANTIALLY. MANY NOVEL WAYS HAVE BEEN INITIATED TO MAKE MONEY FOR OUR PENNIES FOR FRIENDSHIP FUND. A PENNY WAS DONATED FOR EACH INCH OF OUR WAISTLINE, A LENDING LIBRARY WAS CREATED BY MEMBERS DONATINC BOOKS TO THE LIBRARY, AND THEN LENDING THEM AT 10¢ EACH, A BIRTHDAY JAR WAS CIRCULATED EACH MONTH AND ANY MEMBER WITH A BIRTHDAY THAT MONTH DONATED AS MANY PENNIES AS NUMBER OF YEARS, AND FOLLOWED BY THE SINGING OF HAPPY BIRTHDAY. THE SAYING, "THERE rs ALWAYS SOMETHING NEW TO LEARN"I-AS BEENFROVEN IN THE WELL ATTENDED SHORT COURSES WHICH HAVE BEEN OFFERED. OUR KITCHENS HAVE PROFITED FROM THE COURSE BAKED IN A PIE, ONTARIO FRUIT, FESTIVAL OF DAIRY FOODS AND A WORK SHOP ON NUTRITION. CREATIVE STITCHERY, NEEDLECRAFT, NEEDLEPOINT, ASSESSORIES FOR THE HOME, AND HERSONALIZE YOUR PATTERN WERE PRESENTED FOR THE NIMBLE FINGERS AND INDOOR GARDENING FOR THE GREEN THUMBS. BUSINESS PROCEDURES HAVE MADE THE JOB OF RUNNING OUR HOMES AND BUSINESSES . A MORE EFFICIENT OPERATION. Bus TRIPS HAVE BEEN A SOURCE OF EDUCATION AND ENJOVMENT, TOURING SUCH PLACES AS BLUE MOUNTAIN POTTERY, GEORGIAN CHINA, KAUFMAN FURNITURE IN COLLINGWOOD, THE KITTEN FACTORY, SHOE OUTLET AND SILVER FACTORY OUTLET IN PERTH, BRITES WINES IN N. Fa.ils, T MANY PARKS AND GARDENS WERE VISITED, SUDH AS EDWARDS GARDENS, ALAN GARDENS, HAMILTON ROCK GARDENS, NIAGARA FALLS, AND A COLOUR TOUR OF OUR NORTH COUNTRY WITH A SIDE TRIP TO HINTERLAND HANDICRAFTS. WE SHOPPED AT KITCHENER MARKET, HESPLER MILL ENDS, SHERWAY GARDENS AND THE NEW EATON CENTRE. WE WERE ENTERTAINED AT THE ELWOOD CLOVER SHOW, AND TOURED NIAGARA ON THE LAKE, AND MCLAUGHLIN HOUSE, OSHAWA, AS WELL AS THE ERLANDLEE HOME AT ST. CATHERINES, AND ADELAID HOODLESS HOME NEAR BRANT-ORD- WE WERE TRANSPORTED INTO THE SPLENDORS OF THE DUNDURAN CASTLE AND THE WONDERS OF AN AFRICAN LION SAFARI, AND THE ANTICIPATIONS OF A MYSTERY TOUR.
