I772 JEANNE AND NORMAN COULTHARD (left and centre) presented a Heintzman piano to the Downie Township Hall in St. Pauls and to president Marlene Coulthard and all members of the St. Pauls Institute last Wednesday. St. Paul's Women's Institute "honours 54-year member ?ags were made at the conference and it was discussed how good it would be if Chrisu'anity could be brought back to the schools then we could reach for the Stars. Peggy Knapp and Lyn McLeod, Liberal leader were two of the speak- ers. Maggie Millan conducted the worship service and said in 1960 it took a year to do a job, in 1970 a month in 1980 a day and in 1990 an hour, what a change. 54-year member Jeanne and Norman Coulthard Coulthard, Colleen Coulthard, Ron Coulthard, Arnold and Margaret De Long. Solos were sung by Norma Howe, Winston Coulthard, Norman Coulthard and Jack Matthison. Asisthecustom,chairs weremoved back and dancing also took place with French Minuet, Heel and toe Polka, Square Dance, etc. So it was an eventful night, a thank you to Jeanne Coulthard, then cake and ice cream were served the many Institute members, family members and quests. The Augustmeeting of the St. Pauls Women's Institute was a very memo- rable one. After the business con- ducted by president Marlene ' Coulthard the four delegates from the {area to the FWIO Conference in Thunder Bay, Marlene Coulthard, Mary Otto, Diane Jackson and Clara Wichie gave their reports. The theme for the conference was 'ReachfortheStars.' Many sing songs were held and the four sang some of the songs frx those at the St. Pauls Hall. , There were bus tours of the Thun- rlor Ilau/amn .mga?m nf all 1m eternal \Ilith nurclr'ianc Marina... presented a Heintzman piano to the Downie Township Hall and St. Pauls Institute as the former one was unre- pairable. They made the presentation out of the goodness of their heart and Jeanne mentioned after 54 years as a member of the Institute it was given in that token. Then Marie Beau read a presenta~ Lion loJeanne Coulthard for her work in those 54 years in the St. Pants Womens Institute and also her in- volvement in higher level if Institute work and long time curator. Also Jeanne belongs to'the Downie Community Club, Stratford Agricul- ture Society, politics, St. Andrews Church and her involvement with Downie Book Farms all these years besides her community work, raised a daughter Norma, sons Winston, Gordon, Larry and alex. - Jeanne madeasuitable replyacakc was cut in her honour then the music EGMNAGEENT w Grant and Betty Gill of Embro are pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Linda Maria to Jesse Graham Northcott, son of Reg and Thelma Northcott of Port Stanley. The wedding will take place at 2 pm. Saturday, August 22, 1992 on Tom Patterson Island, Stratford, Ontario.
