Jolene Chambers is Embro fair ambassador BY LIZ DADSON Jolene Chambers of RR 5, Embro has been named the new Ambassa-- dor of the Embro Fair. The 18-year-old Grade 13 student at Woodstock Collegiate Institute said she was "quite surprised" to be chosen at the ceremony held Satur- day night at the Embro Town Hall. She was sponsored by Braernar Women's Institute. Also running in the competition were Coleen MacAlpine of RR 5, Embro, sponsored by the Embro Women's Institute, and Marilyn lnnes of RR 2, Embro, sponsored by Brooksdale Women's Institute. All three contestants were judged on their personal interviews, their poise, department and personali'v. prepared speeches and impromptu speeches MC Doug Turvey did a splendid job, providing marvellous jokes and conversation throughout the hour- long program. He and wife, Lois, sang several musical numbers, accompanied by Diane MacAlpine on the piano. Judges Deb Patton, Mark Taylor and Ann Roth made the ?nal deci- sion. Chambers works part--time at the Embro Grocery and Variety and attending college or university.
