Jeff Timmermans, Stratford gave an emotional prelude to his presentation of his journey across Canada titled "Miles for Memories." May 23, 2003, was day one of his 8,300 km journey across the nation with his bicycle to create awareness about Alzheimer's, which his wife suffers from. Every slide had its own story to tell -- like his collection of provincial licence plates. . He concluded his presentation with the statement, "I travel the country and discovered that we live in para- dise."
