The tombstones at this month Christ Church cemetery in Hillier are being repaired and cleand up: anyone interested in helping with this worthwhile cause, please arrive on any Satur- day moming with a pail, some water, a scrubbing bmsh in hand. and I think a pair of ntbber gloves would probably be a must. This month, we lost a long-time member of our W.I. Merle Evans lost her long battle with cancer. Her mother had been a member of the Hillier W.l. when Evans was growing up. Merle was a dedicated member and I will mis her very much. For the past l0 years we have driven together from Picton to each meeting and to other places within the WI. Our deep sympathy is extended to Walter, Colleen, and the rest of their family. There were 15 members at the August meeting, plus a very busy, if small, guest. Peggy's grandson was visit- ing for his first birthday. Pat had arranged for Barb Sweet from the Piston library to present a slide show and give an informa< tive talk about the many ser- vices the library provides.
