Presentation by Knowlton Hunter hosted by Joyce Brown, WI ARTS l: CRAFTS WRAP UP Prince Edward District Women's lnstitute‘s “22nd Annual Art Cmfl Sale committee“ held their 2005 wrap- up meeting to evaluate the success of this year’s Ans and Cmfis Sale and to discuss improvements for the 2006 show. Wilma McCagg, Prince Edward District president and registrar for the Art 84 Craft Sale was pleased to announce that over 4,500 people enjoyed visiting the booths of 250 vendors. All other committee members reported, and to their credit, favourable comments from visitors and ven- dots. A survey taken this year told us that the new spacing of outside vendors was an improvement. that our Visitors usu- ally come to the show from within a 50-mile radius and many people surveyed have been enjoying our county’s show for years. Prince Edward District WJ. would like to thank all par» ticipants. We hope they will return next year when we hold our “23rd. Annual Art Crafl Sale“ on Thursday August 3rd, 2006 . JOYCE BROWN. This is a fun time with lots of laughter and even more talking We look forward to see- ing you there Members who have signed up to participate in the ALA. are asked to arrive on time (with a smile) and, if serving food, to dress as closely as you can in Victorian apparel. Anyone living in the County or visiting here please accept this invitation to come and enjoy our won- derful homemade chili and fantastic apple dumplings. The Hillier W.l. is serving this gourmet repast on Saturday September l7th between 10 am. and 4 pm. and then again on Sunday September is between ll arm. and 4 pm. at the Hillier Hall. which is located on the east side of the main road coming from the Picton/ Bloomfield / Wellington area Our next monthly meeting takes placc in the Hillier Hall at 1 pm. on the 22nd of September with the roll call, "lfyou could invent something what would it be?" i have: “A surface which does not attract dust seconds after I have just finished polishing the thing" or maybe invent a little voice telling my husband where to find things like: “First, take your hands our of your pockets Allen and then move something I am hiding behind the milk jug or below the book you have just laid down.“ i can only dream. I am sorry i did not manage to get to the July or August meetings, which both took place in Hillier Park. Members who did attend the July meeting said that they had a lot offun playing games followed by a picnic. The August meeting was hosted by Joanne, who demonstrat- ed the art of decorating shopping bags. I hear that sever~ al of the bags were very skillfully done while others were not quite so artful.
