Hospital office staff now members of union Full-time office and clerical workers at the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital have recently joined the Service Employees International Union. Business representative Bob Blewett of Belleville, says Picton was one of the few area hospitals until now which was not part of the growing membership. Last week he said he was also in the process of signing up part-time employees at the Picton facility. SKILL AT ARMS ..... Private Joseph K. Picton, receives a trophy for his skill at arms during graduation ceremonies on Dec. 8 at Canadian Forces Recruit School, CFB Cornwallis, Nova Scotia. Presentation was made by Brigadier-General R. Sturgess of Command Maritime Air Group. The Feb. 31 gravestone which has been made famous in â€Ripley’s Believe It or Not" recordings still stands in the old Anglican cemetery in Picton.
