GILBERT MILLS WOMEN'S INSTITUTE DESSERT TEA ” :1 Gilberts Mills Women's Institute entertained the ladies of the community and the Demorestville Women's Institute to a dessert tea held at Doxsee's church on the evening of April 18th. 1972. President Mrs. Roy Brooks welcomed all and after cpening the program gave a report on how and why the Women's Institute in Ontario was started and its aims. As this is the 75th anniversary of the Federated Women's Institutes of Ontario, to celebrate it they had Victor Lord Show his very lovely slides which all enjoyed Very much. Before he showed the films he presented to Mrs. Brmoks with the history of the Women's Institutes in Prince Edward. After the films he was presented with a small gift from the Institute by Mrs. Leland Doxsee. A prettily decorated anniversary cake centred the tea table at which Mrs. Harold Cross poured coffee at one end and Mrs. Blake Richards poured tea at the other. There was a great variety of desserts for everyone to sample. Mrs. Peggy Allison expressed the thanks of the Demorestville ladies and all agreed it had been a very enjoyable evening. «Mae
