we MRS. W. R. MUNRO Mrs. w. R. Munro was the first President of the Gilberts Mills Womens Institute when it was organized by Mrs. W. R. Brown, District Organizer in 1908. She alaays took a deep interest in the Society and was known as the Mother of Gilberts Mills W.I. Her interest in Istitute work reached far beyond the local branch. She was Secretary-Treasurerof the Prince Edward District for twentyâ€"five years. The Area President from 1930â€"1936 and was sent to Toronto with the first class of Juniors sent to the judging contest held there, also to Ottawa to represent Hastings and Prince Edward Counties in receiving the wives of the Governors from overseas when they were called to Ottawa for an Economical Conference of the Commonwealth. and the testing of cows when both of these plans were worked out well. She was always interested in all church and community activities and even after she was confined to her home by failing health, she still wrote papers to be read at the Institute meetings. She was laid to rest in Pioton's beautiful cementery July lst- 1947, deeply mourned not only by family and relatives, by hosts of friends. also
