MR. AND MRS. GORDON GILBERT MARK 50TH ANNIVERSARY Saturday, May 10, 1980, over 100 friends, neighbours and relatives gathered at Mount Pleasant Hall to help Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Gilbert to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert (nee Ola Lumley) were married on May 7, 1930, by Rev. L.S. Throop at the Demorestville Parsonage. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Allison of Kitchener were their attendants. They have two sons, Keith and Carl and grandchildren, Keitha, Cheryl, Ronald, Brian and Jeffrey. Among the guests were cousins, Mrs. Nellie Green, 88 years old from Detroit, her daughter Merle Bryan and granddaughter, Bev and friend Shirley. Present were cousins from Weston, Dundalk, 'King CitY, Richmond Hill, Aurora, Barrie, Oshawa and Mississauga. Lunch was served by the grandchildren and Tracey Cruickshank and Sherri McCann. The couple received many gifts, cards and a plaque from Premier William Davis and Governor General Ed Schreyer. They also received letters from James Taylor, Jack Ellis, Joe Clark and Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau.
