Hillier Women's Institute Bus Trips Trip to Lanark and Smith Falls July 28, I977 Eleven members and twelve friends of Hillier W.I. and twentyfour members of Wellington W.I. travelled by McGinnis Coach Lines with Graham Fox as driver. The cost was 7.50 per person. The bus left Hillier at 7:I5 am. A tour and shopping was enjoyed at the Kitten Mills, Lanark at 10:30. At Perth we had our noon picnic lunch in a lovely park. We were given a tour of Perth by bus with our guide Mr. Cote. We stopped at the Rogers silver plate outlet store for shopping. At Smith Falls we had a tour of the Hershey Chocolate Plant. We had time for shopping and supper at the Kingston Shopping Center. Ottowa October Io, II, I978 W ith Graham Fox, driver of the EcGinnis bus, we left Hillier at 7:50 am with 41 passengers from Picton , Crofton, Wellington, Gonsecon and Bowermans. Going north of Belleville via #7 highway the autumn colours were beautiful. We stopped at the Heritage Silverplate outlet at Perth. Arriving in Ottowa , a guide from the N.C.G. joined us and made the 2 hour tour of the city an informative pleasure. W e stayed overnight at the Holiday Inn , Kent Street. Beginning 8 am the next day we had a colour tour of Gateneau Park with a stop at Noorside, the late MacKenzie King's home. Heading south on Highway 16 we stopped for dinner near the Prescott interchange. Our next stop was Caldwell Mills and many members bought linens at the outlet store. At Brescott we also visited Hathway Mills and a shirt outlet store. We had supper at the Imperial restaurant at the Kingston Mall. The cost was 25. dollars for the bus and motel.
