The theme selected for the convention was Pathway to progress. ' Mrs. C. H. Dallison, Brighton was song leader. She was ac- companied by Mrs. Bryce Hazelwood, RR 2, Codrington, as pianist. District presidents gave their reports: Mrs. Fred Wellman, RR 2 Stirling, for Hastings East; Mrs. Glen Barker, McArthurs Mills for Hastings North; Mrs. H. Ketcheson, Frankford ‘for Hastings West; Mrs. E. Thompson, Colborne for Nor- thumberland East; Mrs. J.C. Brisbin, Baltimore for Norâ€" thumberland West, Mrs. M. Cornish, Peterborough and Mrs. George Vinent, Bloomfield for Prince Edward. There'was $784 in con- tributions to Save the Sight from the seven districts. Reports from standing committees were given with several new ideas in motto and roll call recommended for the next year program. A dinner was served in Wright Memorial Hall Mrs. S. Bird, past president introduced the head table guests. Federation representatives sat together at another table. Mrs. Francis Lampman, home economist showed slides and told of the 4H homemaking clubs, and the courses offered the girls. During the afternoon sessions, Mrs. Clifford Reid, Belleville, first vice president, led. Mrs. H. Noblitt, Ottawa, president FWIO gave full coverage of Women’s Institute work from three levels: branch, district and area.‘ At the Wed- nesday morning session, Mrs. Douglas Reid, second vice president, RR 5 Belleville, was in charge. George Wahl and Rod Edward Follwell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward E. Follwell, all of R. ‘R. l Corbyville were unitedin' marriage. Attending the couple was Mrs. Donald Scott, matron of honor - and John Judson, Lonâ€" don as the. best man. Following reception held in the Four-Seasons Hotel, Belleville, the couple took up residen- ce at R. R. 2 Shan- nonville - Webb ‘Photo Service. Bird, and Mrs. C. Barber giving their reports as provincial board directors. Mrs. Ralph Sills, RR 2 Roslin, area curator gave a report. Among reports given was education and cultural activities by Mrs. Alex Bell, Wooler. Mrs. Francis Tobin, third vice president, RR 1 Madoc took charge of the Wednesday at- ternoon session. During the afternoon, the home economists ‘of the area gave their reports beginning with Mrs. Karen Fitzsimmons, Northumberland, Miss Christine Hoffman, Peterborough, Mrs. Jacquelyne Hart, Prince Edâ€" ward and Mrs. K.A. Wahl, Hastings. Hastings East Institute presented three skits under the title of These Women. It was agreed to accept the invitation from Cobourg to hold the 1974 Trent Valley Institute there. "
