5 / FEDERATED WOMEN'S INSTITUTES OF ONTARIO An Organization for Personal Growth and Community Action HONOURING AN OLDER MEMBER Who is the oldest member of your Branch? Would you like to honour them in this the International Year of Older Persons? FWIO would like to assist you with this project. The member chosen must prepare a "Grandmother's Legacy" (see Home & Country newsletters Spring 1998) -- a story of her life. Assistance in compiling her story may be obtained from the Tweedsmuir Curator or another member or family member. 1 FWIO will send a copy of the history book "For Home & Country" to 1 each Branch willing to participate in this project. The history book is to be presented to the chosen member at a special function prepared by her Branch. Perhaps this would provide a . photo opportunity for your Branch, or several branches, if you ; wish to join with neighbouring branches for a special tea or i luncheon. FWIO has received special funding for the presentation of the . history book and the rules state that the presentations must be . made in 1999. This and the personal history of your member are the only rules. _ We encourage you to put a copy in your local Tweedsmuir History >¥€Book and send a copy to the Provincial Office. PLEASE FORWARD THE NAME OR YOUR ELDEST MEMBER TO BE HONOURED TO FWIO HEADQUARTERS BY SEPTEMBER 30, 1999 SO A BOOK CAN BE FORWARDED TO YOU FOR PRESENTATION THIS YEAR.
