ONYAFiIO DEPARTMENT 6F AGRICULTURE WOMEN'S INSTITUTE BRANCH Toronto 2,0ntario', March 28 .1945. Mrs. Angus Jackson, stoney Creek,0nt. Dear Mrs. Jackson: We have just received word that Miss Elizabeth Christmas, organizer for the National Federation of Women's Institutes of England will be in Ontario the week of April 50th to May 5th. Miss Christmas has indicated that she would like to visit Stoney Creek, the birthplace of the Women's Institutes. Would it be possible for your Institute or district to arrange a special meeting for Miss Christmas some time during the week? I know Miss Christmas would be r-' seed to speak to the Institute members and will be anxious to hear the work which your members are doing" Then, toe, I should like her to have the Opportunity sometime while she is here for a brief visit to some of our Ontario farms and farm homes. I have been wondering if it might be possible for her to visit one or two fame in the morning, then meet with the members in the afternoon. She could see the places of interest at the same time. We may be able to provide transportation for her from this office or, if that fails, Mr. Merritt or some local person might help with this. Since this matter will be of interest to more than one Institute I am writing a similar letter to Mrs. Elton Witmer, district president. Will you confer with her concerning possible plans and let me know as soon as possible so that I may advise Miss Christmas and plan the rest of the week? Is there any particular day which would suit you better than another during that week? I an anxious to make plans as soon as possible and will appreciate an immediate reply- Yours very truly, / 7' J M / - ' / ' , . r / Mary A. Clarke, W EWj Superintendent. m0 : w
