in the many fields of Institute endeavour, she rendered invaluable and inestimable service. Miss Powell has ever taken a keen interest in the up- lift of her own community and for several years was a valued member of the School Board. Her many fine characteristics together with a mind well-developed, and enriched by many years of valuable experience, most admirably equip the author to write this in.- structive and authoritative book. No greater service could she render her fellow W. 1. members, than to compile for their pleasure and benefit the comprehen- sive story of their beloved organization--Which work she has most acceptably done. It will undoubtedly prove a joy and inspiration to its many readers, and I am sure all join with me in extending to Miss Powell, our sincere and grateful thanks. Annie Choate Walker. (6)
